  • We want to thank the family and friends of Lannie Sue Sowers.

    Lannie was born July 10, 1950 in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Robert D. Bentley and Marilyn Sowers Bentley of Roseville. Mrs. Sowers was a former employee of R.J. Reynolds Company. She was a member of Zanesville Church of Christ.

    Sadly, Mrs. Sowers passed away on September 1, 2011. In lieu of flowers, her family has asked that memorial contributions be made in memory of her. It is with great honor that W.H.I.N.N.Y. Horse Rescue was chosen to receive Mrs. Sowers' gift for it's horses in need.

  • Halle Murphy Gibson

    Halle Murphy Gibson, an eleven year old girl from Shaker Heights, Ohio, was killed, along with both of her grandparents in a tragic auto accident in Louisiana. Halle, her mother and grandparents were visiting Halle's brother, who is in the Army, and being sent to Afghanistan. On the way home, their mini-van was stopped at a stop light and was rear-ended at a high rate of speed. Both the grandparents died at the scene; Halle and her mother were air lifted to area hospitals. Halle was pronounced brain dead and taken off life support Friday, March 10th.2006. Her funeral service was Thursday, March 16th, 2006 in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Halle loved horses. In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made in Halle's name to an organization that helps horses. It is with great honor that W.H.I.N.N.Y. Horse Rescue was chosen to receive Halle's gift for its horses in need. To date $6885.has been donated in memory of Halle.
